Q: What is Quidditch?
A: Quidditch is based on the popular sport from the Harry Potter series, which has grown immensely into a widely-played game in the real world. USQ describes Quidditch as “a gender integrated contact sport with a unique mix of elements from rugby, dodgeball, wrestling, flag football, and other sports. A quidditch team is made up of at least seven athletes who play with brooms between their legs at all times. While the game can appear chaotic to the casual observer, once familiar with the basic rules, quidditch is an exciting sport to watch and even more exciting to play.”
Q: When do you practice?
A: We currently practice weekly from 1-3 pm at Drexel Park during the fall and spring, and Buckley Field in the winter. Additional practices during the week depend on the availability of team members.
Q: Are there other Quidditch teams?
A: Yes! There are hundreds of other Quidditch teams in the United States and the world. There are also several other teams in the area, such as Penn, Swarthmore, and the Philadelphia Honey Badgers, a community team.
Q: Do you fly?
A: No. No, we don’t.
